Getting started

KABELPARK® - Hvide Sande

Take part. Join in.

It's very simple. Well begun = Half done

The cableway is very friendly on newbies, and for most people it's just a question of turning up, buying a two hour ticket and going ahead. However we do recommend that younger kids (10 - 15 years) starts by taking an intro class.

Otherwise it is - like we say - pretty simple :)
Take a look at the basic techniques of handling skis or wakeboard here.

The cable code of conduct

  1. Be ready when you reach the start

Make sure you tighten your bindings before you reach the start ramp, and remember to greet the operator on your first start

  2. Let go immediately when you crash

If you don't let go of the handle right away you risk 'shooting' it up over the main cable causing an emergency stop

  3. Keep an eye on riders coming from behind

When you crash make sure to get up and away fast - in particular if you're lying behind an obstacle

  4. Riding isn't just an ego trip

Stick to 3 or 4 rounds if there are other riders standing in line, and go out through the exit buoys so that another rider can take over your carrier

  5. Do as we tell you

If we ask you to do things our way it's not in order to harass you, but because we know it is in both your own and our interest to do so

At your own risk

Before you decide on trying, please notice that any ue of the cableway system comes at your own risk.
Therefore make sure you are covered by your own recreation- and accident insurance.

In general there is nothing to be particular nervous about.
But if you have a history of serious shoulder- or back injuries you should be aware that there is a risk, primarily with the heavy pull during the start.
